In our testing of a variety of discus brands, we studied durability. The carbon discus plate seemed tough, and a further study found it unbalanced. The weave used in this case had strands of different ends, and each had multiple strands in each thread. We then inspected nylon discus plates and found them heavy and created inconsistent rim weights within the same discus style. We looked at the less expensive discus in the colors red, green, orange, blue, black, and white to find that they had fillers in the plastic to give the colors. 

We chose ABS composite molded plates in color GOLDEN YELLOW. This color has no fillers to weaken the structure.
